Final Image!

Here is the image chosen as my final from all of my edited test shots!

Test Shots! - Natural Colours

Here are a selection of edited images but with no changes with the colours. For the image I wanted to create I felt natural colours should be used and do make a better contrast through colours.

Test Shots! - Black/White

Here are 4 of my test shots just using black and white colours. Although these images were effective I felt natural colour should be used in a time-lapse image.

Charlie Waite

Here are a selection of images from the photographer Charlie Waite. These are great landscape photographs executed extremely well at a high quality, all being visually pleasing for the viewer. Location is key for an effective landscape photograph, all of these images have a great location.

Time Lapse Photography!

Here is an example of time lapse photography of Toronto, Canada. Being a huge city and split up to so many sections this is an amazing photograph. A total of six photos have been taken throughout the day and put together in order from the start to the end of the day to create this visual amazing image!

The second time lapse image that I looked at was interesting especially as you can see the movements of the sun. The pattern of the sun is amazing visually and the colours created as the sun is at a low point and a whole separate effect to this image.

This is another time lapse image I looked at displaying six images throughout a day in Manhattan, New York. The location chosen for the image perfect with the highrise buildings really standing out especially with all the lights on in the night section of the image.

Duality between land and sea!

Here are a few examples of photos I took on holiday in April with a duality between land and sea.

Martin Stranka

Here is an image created by Martin Stranka with a blend of male and female. This a really effective black and white image giving off a 'dark' effect. This could portray the male being ashamed of his looks, or wanting to be female with the photo he's holding representing him being almost trapped. Him being positioned in the bottom right of the image with the black background makes me thinks he's lost behind another identity and looks as if he's crouched down on the floor, not being able to move.

This is a strong image representing hope from the same photographer. It could also show the duality between life and death with her head being just above water giving her the ability to breath. The line of the water is the most effective part of the image with that being the separation of life and death, with the line being near the top of the image you realise that most of her body is submerged with the effect she's struggling to keep her head above water.

Example Duality Images

In my opinion this was the strongest image I found with the huge contrast of black and white. This really stands out as a powerful image and is done just through colour. Black and white could portray good and evil, this is also effective in this image. The white half of the image is more inviting and 'friendly' whereas the black side is more mischievous, especially the eyes having an effect on this.

Here is another image that has a contrast between black and white. This is not as powerful but still show the effect that opposite colours can have on a image. Another reference to duality in this image would be the fight that is taking place between the two goats.

Here is a duality between light and dark. The broken light could represent despair and destruction whilst the bright light could be representing hope. This is a really interesting example with it being such a simple image with such a strong effect!

This image seems to be a duality between a high and low brightness. The right face almost looking unedited but contrasting effectively with the face on the left. Both the people appear to be asleep in this image creating a natural look.

This is a image strong image representing life and death. This is a powerful, almost scary image but also my favourite. The black and white effect definitely adds to the effect of the image and makes the 'live' side the image also look sad as if it's representing that someday everyone will die.

Another image with a huge black and white contrast but with a difference! In this image the black portrays a friendly face and could even represent love. The editing on this image looks to have been done professionally and gives the effect of two different faces with the black face positioned in front of the white face but also gives off the effect of a shadow.

This image looks like it could be used in a horror movie. Both sides of the image represent evil with the black blocking out the facial features, whilst the the white almost makes them stand out. The eyes in the image are the first thing you look at with the face looking straight at the camera giving off the effect of the women looking straight back at you.
